How ABAIQ works, point by point

This is a plain-language statement of how ABAIQ is built and how it operates. It is not a contract and it is not legal or regulatory advice. For the binding terms of using ABAIQ, see our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Business Associate Agreement. We publish this so that the clinicians and agencies who use ABAIQ can see, in detail, exactly what the product does, what it does not do, and where their own professional judgment begins and stays.
ABAIQ is an AI-powered drafting assistant for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) documentation. It runs as a Chrome side panel next to whatever web-based EMR or practice-management platform you already use. You bring your session information into ABAIQ (you type it in, dictate it, or import it from the client's Behavior Intervention Plan, or BIP), and ABAIQ produces a structured, professional draft of a session note that you can review and place wherever you need it.
ABAIQ is not a clinical decision-maker, a diagnostic tool, or a replacement for a qualified provider. It does not make treatment decisions, does not bill on your behalf, and does not finalize, submit, or sign anything. The work product belongs to you, and so does the clinical responsibility for it. AI is a tool that supports clinical work; it does not supplant it.
Every note ABAIQ produces is a draft that is handed back to you for review. Nothing is auto-submitted to a patient record, a payer, or anyone else.
The product is deliberately designed so the human is the last step, not the AI.
So there is no mystery about what happens, here is the end-to-end flow:
ABAIQ is built to reflect the specific client and the specific session in front of you. It draws on the session data you provide and, when you choose, on that client's BIP, so the draft is grounded in that individual's goals, behaviors, and plan.
ABAIQ does not paste in boilerplate from other clients, reuse another provider's text, or output a fill-in-the-blank template. Each draft is generated for the encounter at hand. You remain responsible for verifying that the final note is original, accurate, and specific to your client before it is used.
ABAIQ is powered by leading large-language-model providers, Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI, under signed Business Associate Agreements and a zero-data-retention configuration (see Section 7). We name our AI providers openly rather than hiding that ABAIQ is an AI product.
Because the content is AI-assisted, you should be transparent about that in turn. Where your organization's or payer's policy calls for it, disclose that documentation was AI-assisted. ABAIQ supports your transparency; it does not replace your obligation to be transparent with your own clients, supervisors, and funders.
Generative AI can produce output that is incorrect, incomplete, or fabricated (sometimes called "hallucinations" or "confabulations"). ABAIQ reduces this risk through ABA-specific design and by working from the data you supply, but no AI system can guarantee a perfect note.
For that reason, ABAIQ does not promise that any note will be accepted, reimbursed, or "audit-proof." It produces audit-ready drafts; you are the safeguard that makes the final note accurate. Always read every draft critically before it enters a record.
Our compliance covers our own systems and operations. It does not extend to your independent actions, your patient relationships, or how you use the output. Your compliance remains your responsibility. See our Terms and Security pages for detail.
ABAIQ supports the supervisory structure ABA already relies on. Our QA Suite lets an RBT send a draft to a supervising BCBA, who can review, accept, or return it with feedback before it is used, keeping a credentialed clinician in the oversight loop. Smart Graphs let you view a client's data trends alongside the documentation so decisions are made with context in front of you, not in isolation.
ABAIQ is designed so you can stay actively engaged with what the AI produces: drafts are presented for quick clinician review rather than silently inserted; an encrypted, on-device history lets you revisit what was generated; and relevant client data can be surfaced next to the note so review is informed. The goal is to reduce your documentation burden while keeping you, the clinician, the active reviewer.
If ABAIQ ever produces an output that looks inaccurate, biased, or clinically inappropriate, tell us. You can reach our support team at support@abaiq.ai, and we aim to respond within 48 hours. Reports of problematic output feed directly into how we refine the product, so flagging an issue genuinely improves the tool for everyone.
The underlying AI models improve and change over time, and from time to time we update how ABAIQ generates notes. When a change is material to how your notes are produced, we work to communicate it. We encourage you to keep reviewing output as you always do, since model updates can shift the style or detail of a draft.
Not every funding source has a policy on AI-assisted documentation, and you should not assume a payer permits or reimburses it. Before relying on ABAIQ for billable or bundled documentation, confirm that your payer's policy allows AI-assisted notes, and disclose your intended use where appropriate. ABAIQ provides the drafting tool; confirming payer acceptance is part of your professional responsibility.
